Job summary

Malaysian Bar seeks a litigation professional to handle matters independently, attend court for case management and hearings, and support Partners in trials, appeals, and advisory work.

You will draft pleadings, conduct legal research, and prepare opinions while liaising with clients and witnesses. The role requires 3-5 years PQE, an active Practising Certificate, and strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus. Start date: 01 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree is required.
• Valid Practising Certificate with 3-5 years PQE.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin an added advantage.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong responsibility and good communication skills.
• Ability to manage time, work independently and meet deadlines.
• Meticulous, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple matters.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters independently, including attending court for case management, PTCM and hearings.
• Assist Partners in litigation matters, including trials, hearings, appeals, and advisory work.
• Draft cause papers, pleadings, submissions and legal correspondences competently.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on various issues.
• Attend meetings with clients, witnesses and relevant parties; liaise with clients.
• Work closely with Partners and team on assigned matters.
