About the role
We are seeking a driven and dedicated Optometrist to join our optical practice in Subang Jaya, Selangor. As an Optometrist, you will be at the forefront of delivering comprehensive eye care services to our diverse patient base. This role is pivotal in ensuring that patients receive thorough eye examinations, accurate prescriptions, and professional guidance on vision correction options. You will work in a patient-centred environment where your expertise directly contributes to improving the visual health and quality of life for our clients. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Subang Jaya location.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and ocular health
- Prescribing corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other optical devices following thorough clinical assessment and patient consultation
- Diagnosing and managing common eye conditions including refractive errors, dry eye syndrome, presbyopia and other visual anomalies
- Providing professional advice to patients regarding lens options, frame selection, and appropriate eye care practices
- Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records and clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Performing preliminary eye health screenings and referring patients to ophthalmologists when necessary for specialist care
- Staying current with developments in optical science and clinical practice through continued professional development
- Collaborating with dispensing opticians and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery
- Educating patients on eye health, vision protection, and the importance of regular eye examinations
What we're looking for
- A Bachelor's degree in Optometry or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
- Valid registration and licensure with the relevant Malaysian regulatory body for optometrists
- With or without experience, fresh graduates are welcome to apply
- Proficiency in using optometric equipment including autorefractors, phoroptors and slit lamps is an added advantage
- Strong clinical knowledge of refractive errors, ocular pathology, and general eye health conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical accuracy
- Professional demeanour with a patient-centred approach to solve visual problems and achieve customer satisfaction
