DÜRR DENTAL South East-Asia SDN BHD seeks an Operations Manager to establish a new Asia Hub in Kuala Lumpur. You will lead warehouse, logistics, and customs operations for medical devices, coordinating across ASEAN with HQ in Germany.

Qualifications

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Experience with medical devices is advantageous.
• Proven ability to build and develop structures, processes and organizations.
• Leadership experience and team development mindset.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and international trade.
• Several years of international logistics and warehouse management experience.
• Excellent English; other regional languages a plus.
• On-site in Greater Kuala Lumpur area (Petaling Jaya and surroundings).

Responsibilities

• Lead the physical setup of the new Asia Hub and organize logistics structures.
• Professionalize warehousing, ordering, distribution and service processes.
• Ensure efficient supply chain from Germany to Malaysia and across ASEAN.
• Coordinate import/export, customs, and repair/return processes within ASEAN.
• Oversee customs-related activities, including duties and documentation.
• Develop warehouse and logistics structures and possibly lead a small team.
• Collaborate with HQ, internal departments and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with local and international customs and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare management reports, KPIs and SLA evaluations for decisions.
• Support ERP and customs system implementations and optimizations.
• Design and improve after-sales and service logistics processes.
• Organize training needs and logistics facilities/equipment availability.

Operations Manager Asian Hub Warehouse, Logistics & Customs (m/f/d)

In this key position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the establishment of a new Asia Hub in close collaboration with the headquarter in Germany. Act as a key interface between Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, local market organizations and distribution partners to support business development and operational excellence across ASEAN. You will independently support the selection, setup, and management of warehouse facilities as well as logistics and customs operations for medical devices manufactured in Germany and distributed throughout the ASEAN region. You will further develop the existing team in Kuala Lumpur into a regional Asia Hub team and ensure efficient, compliant, and scalable logistics, warehousing, import/export, training support, and service logistics processes.

Your Responsibilities:

• Take a leading role in the physical setup of the new hub, including the active development, organization, and operational management of warehouse and logistics structures
• Professionalize existing ordering, warehousing, and distribution as well as service processes while continuously improving delivery performance
• Ensure an efficient supply chain from Germany to Malaysia and the distribution of products across ASEAN markets
• Take overall responsibility for coordinating logistics and customs processes (import/export) for new products, exhibition goods, spare parts, service returns, and repairs within ASEAN markets
• Manage all customs-related activities, including repair & return processes, temporary imports, re-exports, free trade agreements, tariff classifications, and customs documentation
• Continuously develop and optimize warehouse and logistics structures at the local site, including the potential leadership of a small team and the management of external service providers
• Work closely with the headquarters in Germany, internal departments, and external partners such as consultants, customs authorities, logistics providers, and freight forwarders
• Ensure full compliance with local and international customs, trade, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare management reports, KPIs, and SLA evaluations to support operational decision-making
• Ensure audit readiness and minimize customs and trade compliance risks
• Support the implementation and optimization of logistics and customs systems, including ERP and customs software solutions
• Design and continuously improve after-sales and service logistics processes
• Organize and coordinate training requirements, including facilities, equipment availability, and all relevant organizational conditions. Conducting technical trainings is not part of this role

Requirements:

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification
• Experience with medical devices and knowledge of dangerous goods handling are considered a strong advantage
• Proven ability to independently build and further develop structures, processes, and organizations
• Strong hands-on mentality, high level of initiative, and willingness to actively support operational activities
• Leadership experience and enthusiasm for leading and developing a small team of approximately 3 to 5 employees
• Entrepreneurial mindset combined with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach in a dynamic international environment
• Solid knowledge of customs regulations and international trade, including the operational management of repair & return processes
• Several years of relevant professional experience in international logistics and warehouse management
• Excellent English language skills; German, Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai or Tagalog language skills are a plus
• This is an on-site position based in the Greater Kuala Lumpur area, particularly Petaling Jaya and its surroundings
