Job summary

NV5 MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. invites experienced Inspectors of Work (M&E) to join our team across Johor and Cyberjaya.

You will perform on-site inspections, verify compliance with drawings, specifications and standards, and monitor workmanship and materials on active projects. Ideal candidates hold a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 7–8 years of on-site supervision and BEM registration as Inspector of Works.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–8 years of on-site supervision experience.
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as Inspector of Works.
• Data center project experience is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of data center systems, industry standards and regulations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
• Monitor workmanship, construction methods, and materials used on site.
• Witness and inspect testing, commissioning, and quality control activities.
• Identify non-conforming works and report deficiencies to the Resident Engineer, Superintending Officer, or Project Manager.
• Maintain detailed site inspection records, reports, photographs, and daily site diaries.
• Verify that materials delivered to site are approved and comply with project requirements.
• Monitor construction progress and provide feedback on site activities.
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Ensure contractors comply with approved method statements, permits, and safety requirements.
• Witness key construction activities such as MEP installations, and testing activities.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings, material submissions, and inspection and test plans (ITPs) where required.
• Monitor rectification of defects and verify completion of corrective actions.
• Support project handover activities and preparation of snagging and defect reports.
