Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Officer for a Penang-based construction project. The role is hands-on, focusing on site monitoring, reporting, and ensuring environmental compliance with project requirements.

You will coordinate third-party environmental activities, maintain records (including rainfall data), and liaise with authorities while supporting site teams to uphold high environmental standards. This is a 5.5-day-week role with local working rights in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline with 1–2 years' construction/site environmental management experience.
• Experience in environmental monitoring, sampling, reporting and authority liaison is essential.
• CISEC or CESSWI certification is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day environmental activities on site and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate third-party environmental laboratories and specialists and report findings.
• Prepare clear site environmental documentation, including rainfall data and monitoring reports.
• Liaise with authorities and site teams to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with environmental specialists and technical teams to promote good environmental practice on site.
