Job summary

EnSilica, based in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Semiconductor Product and Test Engineer to join a fabless organization. The role collaborates with OSATs and internal teams to drive production yield and successful mass production launches, while monitoring test performance in Asia.

The candidate will guide suppliers, resolve production issues, and optimize test processes to achieve higher yield and reliability in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor degree in EE/ME with 5+ years of Product Test engineering experience.
• Hands-on data analysis experience, preferably with yield analysis tools.
• Experience in semiconductor test qualification (HW/SW/test machines) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with OSAT departments to ensure smooth wafer and final test operations.
• Perform data analysis for production lot disposition and yield improvement.
• Collaborate with OSAT and vendors to resolve production low-yield issues.
• Support new test programs, hardware, and tester qualification for production.
• Manage test hardware and tooling inventory and review forecasts for spare parts.
• Identify and resolve test setup issues on wafer and final test production.
• Develop relationships with manufacturing partners and vendors.
• Support ramp-up activities with Product and Test Engineering teams.
• Maintain test hardware/software to support production testing and qualification.

Job description

This role is based in Penang and is onsite in a resident office at OSAT.

Established in 2001, EnSilica plc is a designing industry leading, application specific integrated circuit chips (ASIC), for customers ranging from start-ups to blue chip companies, in industries including: automotive, medical, space and mobile technology companies. With its head office on Milton Park, Oxfordshire, and other offices in the UK (Bristol, Sheffield & Cambridge), Brazil (Porto Alegre & Campinas), India (Bangalore) and Hungary (Budapest), EnSilica currently employs around 230 people.

We are seeking an experienced Semiconductor Product and Test Engineer to join an exciting fabless semiconductor company. The role will be working with supplier, vendor, planner and internal design team to successfully launch new products into mass production with yield. And monitoring production test performance at OSATs of Asia.

The successful candidate will be a first line engineer to provide guidance and leading supplier to resolve production issue and optimize the production process/procedure for yield improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with OSAT departments to ensure smooth wafer and final test operation.
• Perform data analysis for production lot disposition.
• Co-work with OSAT and vendors to resolve production low yield issue.
• Support new test program, test H/W and Tester qualification for production released.
• Manage test hardware and tooling inventory, review forecast with planner for spare part ordering.
• Identify/resolve production test setup and low yield issue on both Wafer and Final test production.
• Develop good working relationships with manufacturing partners and vendors.
• Support Production ramp up activities together with the Product Engineering and Test Engineering counterparts.
• Maintain test hardware and software to support production testing and product qualification.

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

• Bachelor EE/ME and 5+ years of experience as a Product Test engineering.
• Hands on experience in data analysis software (yieldHub is preferable).
• Experience in semiconductor test qualification. (HW, SW and test machine)
• Experience with Supplier and vendor management.
• Understanding of 8D methodology.
• Understanding of test manufacturing process and production procedures.

Desirable

• Knowledge on probe card, Load board and test tooling design is advantage.
• Knowledge on various test handlers, like PnP, Turrent, bowl feeder handler.
• Familiar with Total quality mindset. (like First time right, zero defect, Change management)
• Familiarity with device assembly (QFN, QFP,BGA) process is advantage.
