Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a results-driven procurement professional for our semiconductor client in Johor. You will lead local sourcing, manage supplier relationships, and own material cost strategies to support production ramps and revenue plans.

This role requires experience in purchasing/manufacturing, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate across QA, planning and engineering. The successful candidate will build a robust supply chain for a scaling greenfield/brownfield

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience in purchasing or manufacturing environments; semiconductor background is a plus.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems and procurement tools.
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain audit-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead local procurement activities and NPI sourcing for production ramps.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and long-term supply agreements with suppliers.
• Perform market research to identify new vendors and cost savings.
• Manage material flow, supplier capacity, and BOM releases in ERP/Agile.
• Coordinate with QA, planning and engineering to resolve supplier issues.
• Monitor raw material market trends and global supplier relationships.
• Operate autonomously as an IC to scale the Johor plant's supply chain.

about the job

In this role, you will:

• Lead product localization, material cost ownership, and NPI sourcing readiness to perfectly align with production ramps and revenue plans.




• Manage the full cycle of strategic contract negotiations, including pricing, commercial terms, and long-term supply agreements (LTSAs).




• Perform market research and identify new potential vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality material sourcing across complex electronics, metals, plastics, mechanicals, and chemicals commodities.




• Oversee material flow, analyze supplier capacity, and manage BOM releases through ERP and Agile systems to maintain necessary inventory for manufacturing needs.




• Coordinate with quality assurance, planning, and engineering teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues, mitigate long-term supply chain risks, and conduct make-vs-buy analyses.




• Monitor global raw material market trends and manage global supplier relationships to provide insights on pricing, supply stability, and continuity.




• Act autonomously as an Individual Contributor to establish local procurement activities and build robust supply chain operations for a scaling greenfield/brownfield plant.
