Job summary

Renesas Electronics (Malaysia) is seeking an Engineer experienced in NPI process development to optimize assembly processes for new products. You will collaborate across Production, QA, and Engineering teams to ensure successful product introductions and smooth transfers to mass production.

The role requires designing process development plans, validating processes, and maintaining documentation. You will contribute to high yield, reliability, and cost targets while supporting safe launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, E&E, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials, Semiconductor, or related disciplines).
• Minimum 5 years experience in semiconductor assembly, packaging, or manufacturing engineering is preferred.
• Candidates with experience in multiple assembly processes, especially power semiconductor packaging, have an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• A. NPI Process Development and Qualification: Develop, establish, and optimize assembly process conditions for new products; execute development plans and qualification builds; establish specs, control limits, and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate process feasibility, identify manufacturing risks, and implement preventive actions before mass production; review capability, yield, defects, and qualification results.
• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and qualification summaries; support safe launch and resolve critical process issues before mass production release.
• B. Multi-Process Engineering Responsibilities: Develop wafer mounting, dicing, solder printing, clip bonding, vacuum reflow, and flux cleaning processes.
• C. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Production, QA, Product Eng, Material Eng, and suppliers; provide technical support during builds and ramp-up.
• D. Documentation and Mass Production Transfer: Prepare specifications, SOPs, work instructions, flow documents, risk assessments; ensure transfer to mass production.
