Randstad Malaysia is recruiting an experienced NPI Process Engineer to bridge early-stage product design with full-scale mass production. You will lead end-to-end NPI for speaker projects, optimize industrial parameters, and collaborate with Global Process Engineering networks.
You will manage line releases, tooling coordination, SAP routing, and capacity planning while driving continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence across the Penang site.
Our client is a premier global innovator and tier-1 manufacturer of high-performance audio and acoustic technology systems. Operating state-of-the-art facilities in Penang, they engineer high-precision speaker solutions and electro-acoustic components for top-tier automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and leading consumer electronics brands worldwide.
They offer a world-class manufacturing environment where cutting-edge automation, rigorous automotive quality standards, and global engineering networks come together to shape the future of acoustics.
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on NPI Process Engineer to bridge early-stage product design with full-scale mass production. Reporting within the engineering team, you will lead end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) for speaker business projects, optimize industrial engineering parameters, drive process quality, and collaborate closely with Global Process Engineering (GPE) networks.
NPI & Project Execution:
Lead NPI setup, qualification, line releases, and handover to Mass Production (MP) upon reaching ramp-up targets (TR2/MPR).
Coordinate with Global Process Engineering (GPE) on tooling, line design, PPAP buy-offs, FAT, and SAT equipment approvals.
Support RFQ submissions, feasibility studies, profitability analysis, and budget planning (labor productivity, OEE, scrap rate, CAPEX/COGS).
Manage project BOM validation, initial process documentation, and SAP routing structures.
Industrial Engineering & Capacity Planning:
Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM), shop floor layout designs, takt time analysis, line balancing, and cycle time optimizations.
Maintain and update SAP engineering routing databases and establish short/long-term capacity planning models ($N+1$ / $N-1$).
Process Quality & Manufacturing Excellence:
Lead design, qualification, and monitoring of production jigs and fixtures using CAD software.
Implement Poka-Yoke (error-proofing) solutions and drive root-cause analysis (8D Leader, 5 Why, DOE, DMAIC).
Actively participate in QRQC, standardized work audits, and engineering change management.
Continuous Improvement & Global Collaboration:
Lead VEVA (Value Engineering/Value Analysis) and CIP initiatives to drive operational efficiency and automation.
Represent the Penang plant as an active member of the Global Engineering Network (GEN).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Industrial, Acoustical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in NPI and Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment (automotive electronics or electro-acoustics preferred).
Technical Expertise:
Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
Hands‑on proficiency with SAP (BOMs, routings) and CAD software (jig & fixture design).
Proven track record in line balancing, OEE optimization, capacity planning, and Lean/IE tools (VSM, Takt Time).
Flexibility: Willingness to travel overseas when required for global projects or equipment buy-offs.
