Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a NPI Engineering Manager - NPI (New Product Introduction) located in Malaysia with flexibility to work from home. The role will oversee end-to-end project management for new product introduction initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, scope management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation. Other responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, leading project meetings, driving program strategies, fostering effective communication, and maintaining project documentation to ensure successful execution and alignment with business objectives.

• Manage a team of project managers, quality and technical staff to dleiver products on time to budget
• Liaise with engineering team in USA to translate all customer and technical requirements
• Work on various company RFQ’s, spanning tooling, parts supply, sub-assemblies, cables, electro-mechanical components, and full end-to-end contract manufacturing across NPI
• Support the cross functional teams with project tasks including:
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with the internal and externals project teams helping and technical support
• Ensure all key project milestones are met on time
• Updating and managing the high-level plan
• Being the key interaction point to customer
• Be able to perform design/technical reviews and produce technical reports
• Design, assemble and test POC/prototypes for product learnings and improvements
• Attend cross functional meetings
• Drive internal team and customer teams meetings and drive project to mass production
• Track technical issues and risk mitigation via DFMEA, PFMEA, TA, PPAP, SQA
• Create and track ramp up production analysis and reports including yield, capacity, and cost
• Responsible for all product certification internally and externally
• Budget creation and management of payment schedules
• Use Scrum board to run in sprints (training to be given)
• Ramp up and materials planning
• Long lead items management
• Customers sign off procedures
• Product testing and approvals plan

Profile

• Minimum 10 years in senior engineering role covering either hardware/software or both
• The successful candidate will be keen to learn, take on new information and apply this independently. They will need to show good listening skills and willing to build on achieving collaborative working relationships. They will be able to understand complex technical challenges and successfully rely on information to non-technical team members.
• They should have an agile mindset using Scrum framework or other agile product delivery frameworks
• Has experience with working with Chinese contract manufacturers/suppliers
• Has worked/travelled in China/Malaysia to deliver products to mass production

Skills - must have

• Has led engineering teams dleivering complex hardare/software project to market
• Engineering background and migration to project management within consumer electronics/medical sectors.
• Has proven experience taking products from concept to mass production
• Exposure to EVT/DVT/PVT product development process
• Hands on approach and gets sh$t done approach
• User in SolidWorks
• MS Office, MS Project
• Time management
• Excellent English writing skills
