Raydian Cloud Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a junior network engineer to provide first-line operational support for the networks used by a customer GPU data centre. This role provides first-line operational support for the networks used by a customer GPU data centre. The engineer monitors management, service, storage and GPU fabric connectivity, performs initial diagnosis and approved routine tasks, and escalates complex faults to L2/L3 engineers, carriers or vendors. The position suits a fresh graduate or junior engineer with strong networking fundamentals who wants practical experience supporting high-speed Ethernet and InfiniBand environments under a managed services model.
Key responsibilities
Monitor management networks, service networks, storage connectivity and GPU interconnect fabrics using the customer network and fabric monitoring platforms.
Monitor routers, Ethernet switches, InfiniBand switches, firewalls, WAN links and out-of-band management connectivity where these are included in the support scope.
Respond to network and fabric alerts within the agreed service levels and operational procedures.
Perform first-level troubleshooting using approved tools such as ping, traceroute, DNS checks, interface status checks and fabric health dashboards.
Identify basic faults such as link failure, port flap, interface error, packet loss, high utilisation, CRC or FEC errors, transceiver alarms, incorrect cabling and device unavailability.
Check device health, interface status, power, environmental alarms and event logs before escalating an incident.
Perform approved routine tasks such as port status checks, port enablement, VLAN verification, configuration backup and log collection under an authorised procedure.
Trace and patch fibre, copper, DAC and AOC connections, confirm port and asset labels, and replace approved cables or transceivers under a work order.
Support network device installation, rack and stack and structured cabling activities under supervision.
Coordinate with system engineers to identify whether a GPU node issue is caused by the host, network interface, cable, switch port or upstream fabric.
About you
Diploma or bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
Fresh graduates and candidates with up to two years of network support, network operations centre or data centre experience.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4 addressing, subnetting, VLANs, switching, routing and link aggregation.
Basic knowledge of DHCP, DNS, NAT and common network troubleshooting methods.
Ability to use ping, traceroute, nslookup and interface status information to investigate common connectivity issues.
Basic understanding of fibre and copper cabling, patch panels, transceivers, DAC and AOC connections.
Ability to read basic network diagrams, rack elevations, port maps and cable schedules.
Ability to follow procedures and escalation paths carefully in a controlled production environment.
Working proficiency in English. Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is an advantage for customer communication.
