Job summary

Getronics is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, implement, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure. You will handle Cisco Routing & Switching, wireless networking, and VMware NSX while ensuring security, high availability, and performance across data center, LAN, and WAN environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with Catalyst/Nexus, NSX DFW and firewall policies, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Cisco Routing & Switching with expert-level knowledge of Catalyst and Nexus switches.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on implementation experience in enterprise Wireless Networking.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with VMware NSX, including DFW and firewall policy management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Routing & Switching technologies in complex environments.
• Plan, deploy, and support enterprise wireless network solutions.
• Implement and manage VMware NSX, including DFW and security policies.
• Configure and maintain firewall policies to ensure network security and compliance.
• Support network optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Data Center environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology upgrades.
• Participate in change management, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain network documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and operations teams.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in enterprise networking, including Cisco Routing & Switching, Wireless technologies, VMware NSX, and network security. This role involves designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing complex network environments while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

• Configure and maintain firewall policies to ensure network security and compliance.
• Support network optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Data Center environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology upgrades.

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and operations teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Cisco Routing & Switching, with expert-level knowledge of Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus switches.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on implementation experience in enterprise Wireless Networking.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with VMware NSX, including:
• Distributed Firewall (DFW)
• NSX Firewall configuration and policy management
• Strong understanding of enterprise firewall technologies and security best practices.
• Exposure to DNS concepts and troubleshooting.Conceptual understanding of SD-WAN architecture and technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure.
• VMware certifications related to NSX are highly desirable.
• Experience working in large enterprise or managed services environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
• Experience with network monitoring and automation tools is an advantage.
