Job summary

Astreya Partners Malaysia SDN. BHD. is seeking a Network Engineer II to maintain and optimize our network infrastructure. You will work independently with a high level of accuracy on internal and external orders, across edge, backbone, datacenter, and CDN contexts.

Responsibilities include installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and coordinating with ISPs/vendors while ensuring reliable, secure network performance and availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years’ related experience or equivalent.
• Broad knowledge of routing, switching, and server OS.
• Experience with firewalls, DNS, email, and virtual machines.
• Builds productive internal and external working relationships.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices.
• Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies.
• Understanding of server hardware relative to content delivery performance.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain network hosts and services (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints).
• Perform network maintenance and upgrades, sometimes outside normal hours.
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages.
• Support global production and corporate network (edge, backbone, datacenter, POP, CDN).
• Handle vendor switches on servers for hardware/software issues.
• Manage traffic and address ISP/Partner queries.
• Support incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMA, etc.
• Collaborate with ISPs/vendors to fix network issues.
• Other duties as required.

Job description

What this Job Entails:

The Network Engineer II is a focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.

Scope:

Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues Works on problems of moderate scope Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

• Install, configure and maintain various network hosts and services like routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints
• Perform network maintenances/upgrades (often during normal working hours, but sometimes during the evening or weekend)
• Troubleshooting network issues and outages
• Participate in global production and corporate network including edge, backbone, datacenter, POP, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure
• Handle multiple vendor switch on various servers in dealing with hardware/software issues
• Handle traffic, and any queries raised by ISP/Partners
• Provide support for any incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMA etc.
• Work directly with ISP/Vendors on fixing any issues related to network
• Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Have a full understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, active directory, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines and software applications
• Builds productive internal and external working relationships
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies
• Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
