Job summary

Molex (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Production Engineer (Molding) to oversee daily molding production, ensuring quality, output, and timely delivery. You will lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Engineering and at least 3 years in manufacturing, with expertise in injection molding, PFMEA, control plans, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with injection molding, PFMEA, control plans, and root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, OEE/POEE improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production line activities to meet quality, output, and delivery targets.
• Coordinate with Planning and Toolmakers to ensure timely completion of production orders.
• Lead, train, coach, and evaluate production team members to drive performance and compliance.
• Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and minimise downtime and defects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate production records and prepare management reports.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Quality teams to resolve production-related issues.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and reduce waste.
• Align production schedules with customer demand and business requirements.
• Conduct daily production meetings to communicate targets, priorities, safety reminders, and updates.
• Perform safety checks and ensure compliance with PPE and safety procedures.
• Take corrective actions when production or quality targets are not met.
• Assign tasks, manage attendance, and provide on-the-job coaching to team members.
• Identify and implement improvements to workflows, layouts, and operating methods.
• Monitor molding KPIs and drive productivity improvements.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and work instructions.
• Improve operational efficiency through optimisation of headcount utilisation, operator-to-machine ratios, and manufacturing performance.
• Drive efforts to reduce customer complaints and improve product quality.
• Support company initiatives related to Social Responsibility, TS16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, TQM, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
• Lead waste reduction, COPQ, cost-saving, and value creation initiatives.
