Job summary

Talent Trader Group Pte Ltd in Penang seeks a Buyer cum Planner to optimize inventory planning and forecasting. You will review daily reports, determine quantities, and create purchase orders to meet customer demand.

The role emphasizes supplier coordination, EDI transmissions, stock replenishment, and monitoring inventory levels to balance service levels with working capital. Degree or Diploma in SCM and 3–5 years' purchasing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or related field.
• At least 3–5 years of purchasing and inventory planning experience, preferably in an MNC environment.
• Strong understanding of purchasing and inventory management principles.

Responsibilities

• Review daily purchasing reports and system recommendations to determine order quantities.
• Create and authorize purchase orders within assigned limits.
• Execute stock replenishment, special orders, and drop shipments based on cost-effective methods.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability while optimizing working capital.
• Forecast customer demand based on sales trends, inventory levels, and business requirements.
• Plan and execute purchase orders with suppliers according to forecasts and replenishment strategies.
• Ensure accuracy of purchase order details, pricing, terms, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate order transmissions via EDI and other communication channels.
• Track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve shipping discrepancies.
• Communicate delivery updates and issues to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Review excess and inactive inventory reports and liaise with suppliers for returns where applicable.
• Support supplier performance evaluation (e.g., on-time delivery, fill rate, service levels).
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Ad hoc duties as assigned.
