Job summary

Our client, a leading AI research company, is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join their Environments team. This role focuses on building the simulation environments where AI coding agents learn to perform real-world ML engineering.

You will build complex testing infrastructure on top of large-scale ML codebases, grading AI agents on difficult tasks and debugging training frameworks. Speed and adaptability to new codebases are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with ML frameworks like PyTorch or Jax.
• Track record of training large models on large datasets using multi-GPU environments.
• Ability to learn new technologies and complex codebases quickly.
• Strong Python programming and testing infrastructure skills.

Responsibilities

• Write end-to-end tests for RL frameworks to ensure reward functions increase or detect numerical instabilities.
• Implement algorithmic improvements from research papers (in PyTorch or Jax) and write extensive tests.
• Build automation tooling to speed up creation of new ML tasks and testing pipelines.
