Job summary

Gen Digital Inc. is seeking a Manager, Machine Learning & AI to lead a high-impact team focused on applying ML/AI to real-world business problems. You will set the roadmap, guide architectural choices, and partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and platform teams to deliver scalable, reliable AI solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, end-to-end delivery, and advancing modern ML practices while balancing speed and quality in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading ML/AI initiatives from idea to production.
• Experience mentoring and developing technical team members.
• Strong foundation in ML, experimentation, statistics, and software engineering.
• Good programming knowledge with Python and SQL.
• Experience deploying ML systems in production.
• Ability to frame business problems, prioritize, and guide teams to practical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable in fast-paced and ambiguous environments while balancing execution and quality.
• Experience with modern ML frameworks and tooling; evaluate and apply suitable technologies.
• Familiarity with MLOps tooling and production workflows (monitoring, CI/CD, lifecycle management).
• Experience with cloud platforms and production infrastructure.
• Exposure to NLP, search, recommendation systems, or GenAI/LLM patterns is a plus.
• Experience improving engineering standards, governance, and reusable internal capabilities across multiple ML projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing ML/AI team with ownership, technical excellence, and learning.
• Shape technical direction of ML/AI initiatives aligned with product goals.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and platform teams to frame problems into ML/AI solutions.
• Guide projects from exploration through productionization, monitoring, and iteration.
• Maintain high standards in experimentation, model evaluation, reliability, and governance.
• Design scalable ML systems, workflows, and practices for long-term delivery velocity.
• Provide architecture guidance without bottlenecking the team.
• Communicate technical concepts and risks clearly to stakeholders.
• Research and guide practical adoption of new ML/AI ideas (incl. GenAI/LLM).
• Build repeatable capabilities and internal frameworks for multiple ML efforts.
