Job summary

Great Eastern is seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator in Kuala Lumpur to provide operations support, installation, and ongoing administration of middleware. You will manage service requests, changes, incident resolution, and security patching to ensure a reliable middleware stack for critical applications.

You will engage in audits, DR activities, and maintain comprehensive middleware documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in system/middleware administration and infrastructure operations with security compliance exposure.
• Familiarity with middleware running on Windows Server, IBM AIX, or similar OS.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and upgrade middleware.
• Middleware administration for service requests, changes and reconfiguration.
• Incident management with troubleshooting, action and resolution.
• Plan, broadcast and apply middleware security patches and hardening.
• Attend to audits and regulatory compliance matters.
• Participate in data center shutdown and business disaster recovery activity.
• Maintain middleware inventory and track versions.
• Write and update documentation for middleware administration.
• Communicate recommendations to stakeholders to prevent future issues.
• Take accountability for business and regulatory risk mitigation.

Job description

Provide operations support, implementation, support and communications for Middleware infrastructure.

• Install, configure and upgrade middleware.
• Middleware administration for service request, change and reconfiguration.
• Involve in incident management with immediate troubleshooting, action and resolution.
• Plan, broadcast and apply middleware security patch and hardening.
• Attend to audits and regulatory compliance matters.
• Participate in data center shutdown and business disaster recovery activity.
• Maintain middleware inventory and keep track on the updated and outdated middleware (including runtime) versions.
• Improvise the existing middleware team process and procedures.
• Join in various meetings that requires the middleware team involvement.
• Assess on new middleware that will be on boarded into the team support.
• Guide and provide Level 1/2 middleware support.
• Write and update documentations related to middleware administration.
• Communicate to the stakeholders on the recommendation to ensure middleware will run better and without critical problems in future.
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
