Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd seeks an experienced wealth manager to cultivate and manage relationships with high-net-worth clients. You will identify new opportunities, analyze financial needs, and tailor investment and lending solutions to align with clients’ goals.

You will present complex products clearly, monitor portfolios, and stay informed on market trends while ensuring strict regulatory compliance and collaboration with product specialists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in wealth management/private banking with high-net-worth clients.
• Proven track record in acquiring and managing client portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of investment products and financial planning.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin a plus.

Job Description

• Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing high-net-worth clients, understanding their financial goals, risk appetites, and investment objectives.
• Proactively identify and acquire new high-net-worth clients through networking, referrals, and strategic business development activities.
• Conduct thorough financial needs analysis and develop tailored wealth management strategies, including investment, insurance, legacy planning, and lending solutions.
• Present and articulate complex financial products and services clearly and effectively to clients.
• Monitor client portfolios regularly, review performance, and recommend necessary adjustments in line with market conditions and client objectives.
• Stay updated on market trends, economic outlooks, and regulatory changes to provide informed advice.
• Collaborate with product specialists and other internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive and integrated solutions to clients.
• Ensure full compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the wealth management business.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CFP, CFA, or similar are highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, or a similar client-facing role with high-net-worth individuals.
• Proven track record of success in acquiring and managing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients.
• In-depth knowledge of various investment products, financial planning principles, and wealth management strategies.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, economic indicators, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with discerning clients.
• Highly driven, results-oriented, and possess a strong ethical compass.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. Fluency in other languages, particularly Mandarin, would be an added advantage.
