Job summary

Grab is seeking a Merchant Acquisition professional to drive GrabMart growth by onboarding new merchants, curating assortments, and optimizing pricing and promotions. You will partner with KAM, Marketing, Product and Operations to deliver best-in-class merchant experiences and scalable growth across on-demand retail and groceries.

The role requires a proven track record in acquisition, strong relationship-building with retailers, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related field.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding acquisition targets.
• Strong understanding of omni-commerce trends and offline retail operations.
• Able to travel to meet potential merchants.
• Proficient with CRM software and data analysis/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to acquire new merchants for GrabMart.
• Manage a pipeline of prospective retail partners and hit acquisition targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive merchant onboarding.

Job Description

Get to Know the Team

• The GrabMart Merchant Acquisition team owns the full merchant journey. This journey includes shaping acquisition strategy and curating the right assortment, as well as setting pricing, designing promotions, and driving partner success across our on-demand retail and groceries platform.
• We work closely with Marketing, Operations, Product, and Regional teams to deliver standout selection, smart pricing, and best-in-class experiences for our users.
• In this role, you'll partner closely with Key Account Managers and Partner Operations. You'll bring strategic retail partners on board, including supermarkets, convenience chains, specialty, lifestyle, and FMCG brands. You'll ensure a seamless onboarding experience together with the KAM team.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Develop and execute strategies to acquire new merchants for GrabMart, including identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Manage a pipeline of prospective retail partners, tracking progress and ensuring consistent follow-up to hit acquisition targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Key Account Management, Marketing, Product, and Operations - to ensure a cohesive approach to merchant acquisition and onboarding.
• Analyze retail and quick-commerce trends, competitor activity, and category developments to identify opportunities and refine acquisition strategies.
• Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets across new merchant signings, category coverage, and GMV contribution - reporting on progress and adjusting strategies as needed.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a focus on merchant acquisition or partnerships.
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding acquisition targets.
• Strong understanding of the omni-commerce industry, including market trends, competitor activity, and offline retail operations.
• Ability to travel to meet with potential merchants.
• Proficiency in CRM software, such as Salesforce, and experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
