Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Merchandising Manager to oversee multi-category retail and ecommerce, reporting to the Senior Merchandising Manager. You will lead commercial strategy that drives sales and profitability for the business.

Responsibilities include curating assortments, identifying market trends, negotiating with suppliers, defining pricing and promotions, sourcing products, supporting budgeting, stock allocation, and collaborating with retail, operations and logistics to optimise

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in merchandising / retail and buying.
• FMCG sector preferred.
• Computer literate - Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier and brand relationships.
• A resilient and results driven mindset with a focus on meeting targets.
• Store visits required.
• Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse data.
• Supply Chain / Import & Export experience preferred.
• Great team player with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and tracking against the key commercial KPI's of sales and profitability.
• Curating the optimum assortment for our customers that delivers on all our commercial targets, sales and profitability across multiple business units – instore, ecommerce platforms
• Identifying market trends, growing and developing new areas of business identified as strategic growth opportunities
• Negotiating with and managing the supplier relationship and the ongoing maintenance and improvement of commercial buy terms
• Defining and executing the pricing and promotional campaigns & strategy for the category together with coordination and support from suppliers and brands
• Product and supplier sourcing & development in line with strategy
• Contributing to the annual budget building process – sales, other operating income that include instore promotional brand spaces, brand marketing opportunities, re‑evaluation of commercial buy terms
• Stock allocation and distribution and in‑stock purchase guidelines
• Business analysis and evaluation of sales, stock‑turn, stock levels, promotion effectiveness, markdowns
• Work and coordinate closely with retail, operations and logistics departments to deliver optimal retail performance

About you
