Job summary

Brightstar Computer Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a buyer/merchandiser to manage sourcing, purchasing, and merchandising for IT products, ensuring the right items are available at the right price across retail outlets and e-commerce platforms.

You will negotiate with suppliers, maintain strong vendor relationships, monitor stock levels, and set competitive pricing while coordinating with marketing and operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• Minimum 2 years experience in purchasing, merchandising, or product management (IT/consumer electronics preferred)
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Familiar with ERP systems for PO and inventory tracking
• Analytical — comfortable working with pricing data and inventory reports
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets

Responsibilities

• Purchasing & Sourcing: Source and evaluate suppliers/distributors for IT products and accessories
• Product & Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels across all branches — avoid overstock and stockouts
• Merchandising & Pricing: Set and maintain competitive retail and online pricing
• Vendor & Principal Relations: Maintain strong relationships with brand principals (Lenovo, HP, ASUS, etc.)

Responsibility

Role Summary

Manage product sourcing, purchasing, and merchandising for Brightstar Computer — ensuring the right products are available at the right price, across retail outlets and e-commerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Sourcing

• Source and evaluate suppliers/distributors for IT products and accessories
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and trade-in/return policies with vendors
• Raise and manage purchase orders, monitor delivery timelines
• Track and reconcile GRN against PO and invoices

Product & Inventory Management

• Maintain optimal stock levels across all branches — avoid overstock and stockouts
• Monitor slow-moving and aging inventory, propose clearance strategies
• Coordinate stock transfers between branches
• Work closely with ops and warehouse on stock accuracy

Merchandising & Pricing

• Set and maintain competitive retail and online pricing
• Manage product listings across TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada — titles, specs, images
• Coordinate product launches and bundle promotions with marketing
• Monitor competitor pricing and market trends regularly

Vendor & Principal Relations

• Maintain strong relationships with brand principals (Lenovo, HP, ASUS, etc.)
• Coordinate co-op funding, demo units, marketing development funds (MDF)
• Attend vendor briefings, product training, and trade events
