Job summary

Tan Chong Group in Batu Pahat, Malaysia, is seeking a capable commercial vehicle mechanic. You will perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on time with quality workmanship, following the service manuals and safety procedures.

Preferred candidates hold SKM/MLVK in Automotive Engineering or equivalent, with at least 1 year of relevant experience; however, applicants with certificates in Automotive topics are welcome. Training and progression opportunities are available within the workshop.

Qualifications

SKM / MLVK in Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year' experience as a commercial vehicle mechanic.
Mechanic grading and basic salary depend on individual experience.
Candidates with no experience but possess a Certificate in Automotive are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance services and repairs on time and with good quality workmanship.
Inspect engine, transmission, axle, brake to identify functionality issues.
Clean and lubricate vehicle components.
Inspect and adjust the clutch and brake system.
Carry out servicing and repairs to ensure vehicles operate at maximum reliability.
Provide accurate estimates for repair or maintenance jobs.
Update the superior on work progress, jobs performed, and report any issues.
Carry out vehicle troubleshooting on reported problems and resolve them accurately and timely.
