Job summary

Klinik Haiwan Healing Pets in Petaling Jaya, Selangor seeks a skilled Medical Imaging Technician to join our veterinary team. You will operate and maintain CT, X-ray, ultrasound and related imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images while minimising radiation exposure and documenting results in our imaging records.

Qualifications

• Must have formal qualification or certification as a Veterinary Imaging Technician or equivalent recognised in Malaysia.
• Proven experience operating diagnostic imaging equipment, especially CT and radiography in a veterinary setting.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain medical imaging equipment (CT, X-ray, ultrasound and other devices).
• Position animals safely to obtain high-quality images while minimising radiation exposure.
• Prepare patients and equipment following safety protocols; process and archive imaging records.
• Assist veterinarians during imaging procedures and provide technical support as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and QC checks on imaging equipment.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Imaging Technician to join our veterinary team at our Petaling Jaya, Selangor clinic. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering accurate diagnostic imaging services to support our veterinarians in providing optimal patient care. As a Medical Imaging Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images, and contributing to the overall efficiency and excellence of our veterinary services.

Key responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining medical imaging equipment, including CT scan machine, radiography (X-ray) systems, ultrasound machines and other diagnostic imaging devices
• Positioning animal patients safely and appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images whilst minimising radiation exposure
• Preparing patients and equipment in accordance with standard safety protocols and best practices
• Processing and archiving diagnostic images and maintaining accurate imaging records and documentation
• Assisting veterinarians during imaging procedures and providing technical support as required
• Performing routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality
• Adhering to radiation safety standards and implementing protective measures to safeguard patients, staff and yourself
• Communicating effectively with veterinary team members regarding imaging findings and patient requirements
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe imaging suite environment

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification or certification as a Veterinary Imaging Technician or equivalent qualification recognised in Malaysia
• Proven experience operating diagnostic imaging equipment, particularly CT scan and radiography in a hospital or veterinary setting
• Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and occupational health regulations
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail to ensure high-quality image acquisition
• Ability to handle animals with care and communicate clearly with both the veterinary team and pet owners
• Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic imaging
• Proficiency in digital imaging software and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS)
• Physical capability to lift and position animals safely and work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong commitment to animal welfare and professional ethics
• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal healthcare facility is highly valued
