Job summary

Intermarine UK Limited seeks a Mechanical & Piping Engineer to support offshore vessel newbuild projects, reviewing mechanical equipment specs, P&ID drawings, and piping designs to meet project requirements, classification society rules, and applicable marine regulations.

Based in Johor, Malaysia, the role coordinates with shipyards, equipment vendors, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues, verify submissions, and support class approvals, inspections, and survey

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
• 5–8 years in shipbuilding or offshore engineering.
• Experience reviewing P&IDs and vendor technical documentation.
• Knowledge of marine machinery and piping systems.
• Familiarity with IMO regulations and classification society rules.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and coordinate design resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical equipment specs, datasheets, and vendor drawings.
• Review P&IDs and piping layouts for compliance.
• Check designs against project specs, client requirements, and IMO rules.
• Coordinate with shipyard teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Review submissions, identify discrepancies, and track revisions.
• Support class approvals, inspections, and survey activities.
• Monitor installation, fabrication, and system integration.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and technical acceptance.
• Maintain engineering records and design review comments.
