Job summary

MY NAFCO PRECISION SDN. BHD. invites a Mechanical Engineer to join its precision manufacturing team.

The role focuses on designing and optimizing aerospace fasteners (bolts, screws, rivets, nuts, etc.) in accordance with NAS, MS, AS, and AN standards, and developing 3D models and drawings using CAD software. You will select appropriate materials, conduct stress analysis and FEA, and work with production to improve processes, while ensuring AS9100/NADCAP/ISO 9001 compliance.

Qualifications

• Design aerospace fasteners per NAS, MS, AS, and AN standards.
• Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Select materials based on strength, durability, and weight requirements.
• Conduct stress analysis, FEA, and performance testing to validate designs.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, ISO 9001, and customer aerospace requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize aerospace fasteners in accordance with standards.
• Work with production teams to improve manufacturing processes including cold heading, CNC machining, heat treatment, and coating.
• Develop and optimize process parameters to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in production and recommend engineering solutions.
• Research and integrate new materials, coatings, and mechanical innovations into fastener designs.

2. Manufacturing Process Support

• Work withproduction teamsto improve manufacturing processes, includingcold heading, hot forging, CNC machining, heat treatment, and coating.


• Develop and optimizeprocess parametersto enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality.


• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in production and recommendengineering solutions.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure all mechanical components and processes comply withAS9100, NADCAP, ISO 9001, and customer-specific aerospace requirements.


• Conductroot cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA)for mechanical failures or non-conformances.


• Work closely with thequality control teamto establish testing and inspection procedures.

4. Equipment & Tooling Design

• Design and improvetooling, jigs, and fixturesto enhance production efficiency and accuracy.


• Work with maintenance teams to ensure proper calibration and functionality of mechanical equipment.


• Evaluate new technologies for automation and process improvement.


• ImplementLean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principlesto optimize processes and reduce defects.


• Research and integratenew materials, coatings, and mechanical innovationsinto fastener designs.


• Stay updated on the latestaerospace engineering trends and regulatory changes.
