Job summary

Digital Edge is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to supervise and coordinate all mechanical systems on data centre projects in Johor, Malaysia. You will ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery across cooling, plumbing, fire protection and related infrastructure.

You will work with the MEP team and consultants, review drawings, manage ITPs, and produce weekly QA/QC reports while upholding Data Centre standards and green building practices.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering with site supervision.
• Experience on Data Centre or critical infrastructure projects.
• Familiar with Data Centre Uptime Institute requirements.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient design and green building standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation and commissioning of cooling, plumbing, fire fighting and fire suppression systems.
• Ensure alignment with design specifications and project requirements.
• Review method statements, shop drawings and ITPs.
• Support testing and commissioning as well as integrated system tests.
• Ensure planned installation activities comply with the project program.
• Verify compliance with local building codes and international standards.
• Witness FAT and SAT and conduct inspections on mechanical installations.
• Coordinate with the MEP team and consultants to resolve issues promptly.
• Prepare weekly QA/QC reports and progress updates.
