Job summary

Princeton Digital Group (PDG) invites a Mechanical Engineer to join our Malaysia operations. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will ensure reliability and efficiency of the data center's mechanical infrastructure.

You will develop SOPs, support construction, coordinate across disciplines, optimize energy use, and help maintain Green Mark certification. A Diploma/degree in Mechanical Engineering and 4+ years in data centers are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
  • ≥4 years in data center or critical infrastructure, HVAC/Utility operations.
  • Senior level for >7 years considered.
  • Proficient with Excel/Word, BMS, CMMS/DCIM, ERP, and Microsoft BI.
  • Strong problem solving and ability to explain technical concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance activities for mechanical systems to reduce risk.
  • Develop SOPs, EOPs, and MOP for critical facility equipment.
  • Provide technical support during construction and RFIs.
  • Coordinate with disciplines to deliver projects on time and budget.
  • Lead HVAC, fire protection, plumbing mechanical team.
  • Work with Shift team on incident investigations and reporting.
  • Analyze BMS/DCIM data to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Suggest upgrades to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Support Green Mark DC Certification and compliance of chillers.
  • Assist in Annual Shutdowns, Overhauls, drills.
  • Keep up with codes and technologies.

We Are Looking For

As the Mechanical Engineer, you will report to the Technical Manager and support the Operations team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance of the data center's mechanical infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage critical technical maintenance activities associated with all mechanical systems to reduce operational risk and in accordance with the MOPDevelop the SOP, EOP and MOP for all the critical facility equipment and activities
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to RFIs and addressing any issues that arise
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule while managing the mechanical team including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing
  • Work with the Shift team on incident investigation, follow up actions and the submission of the interim and final report to Management for review
  • Identify parameters in the BMS/ DCIM system data and conduct data analysis to identify opportunities to improve the reliability/ efficiency of the Critical equipment or processes
  • Analyse and evaluate mechanical system performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for upgrades
  • Analyse energy usage, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost savings
  • Support Green Mark DC Certification and ensure that the existing Chiller Plant is compliance to the Green Mark requirement
  • Support and coordinate in major activities such as Annual Shutdown, Overhaul, drill/ Tabletop exercise/ dry run-on equipment failure etc.
  • Keep abreast of changes in codes and technologies appropriate to the mechanical, plumbing and fire protection disciplines
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of the chiller systems with other data centre infrastructure
Requirements:
  • Diploma/ degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Building Services orequivalent.
  • At least 4 years of working experience in data center or critical infrastructure industry like refinery or oil and gas with experience in HVAC/Utility operations.
  • Candidates with more than 7 years of experience may be considered for a Senior position, provided they have proven HVAC data centreexperience.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word, BMS, CMMS/ DCIM, ERP and Microsoft BI.
  • Excellent in problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to articulate and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholder
