Mayekawa (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Shah Alam to lead end-to-end design of industrial cold rooms. You will alternate between office design work and active site inspections to ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of large-scale cold storage facilities.
The role involves calculating cooling loads, generating P&IDs and 3D models, and coordinating with on-site teams to validate designs and resolve issues across projects.
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the end-to-end design of industrial cold rooms. You will transition between engineering design and active, under-construction project sites and ensure the proper installation, testing, and commissioning of large-scale cold storage facilities.
Calculate cooling loads, heat gains, and equipment capacities.
Generate detailed P&IDs, piping layouts, and 3D models.
Specify compressors, evaporators, condensers, and expansion valves.
Design panel layouts, underfloor insulation, and pressure relief vents.
visit raw, under-construction or ready sites to measure dimensions and verify constraints.
Inspect on-site installations to ensure builders strictly follow drawings.
Resolve engineering design clashes discovered during the active installation phase.
Time divided between an office desk and construction sites.
May require travel & overnights to various regional or overseas project locations.
Ability to climb scaffolding and walk rugged site terrain.
Wearing full PPE is mandatory during frequent site inspections which will be provided by the company.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 1–2 years in mechanical engineering or related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical work
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects
Comfortable walking unconditioned, active construction zones for field verification.
