Job summary

Motorola Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a fresh Mechanical Engineering graduate to join our product development team. You will contribute from concept to mass production, design using 3D CAD, create 2D drawings, and help ensure safety and reliability of energy products such as batteries and power supplies.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, perform tolerance analysis, create BOMs, support prototypes, and document test results and manuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of material properties.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to communicate and present ideas to technical audiences.
• Knowledge of Creo Parametric 3D software and plastic tooling constructions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be involved in product development from concept to mass production.
• Prepare new product concept designs that meet customer requirements, design, process and safety guidelines.
• Use 3D modeling and surfacing CAD software to design new products.
• Create and interpret 2D drawings per mechanical drafting standards.
• Perform mechanical tolerance analysis and DFMEA.
• Set up and maintain bill of materials.
• Support prototype/pilot builds.
• Perform mechanical verification tests and write test reports.
• Release mechanical prints and parts qualification reports.
• Compile information for user manuals and instruction sheets.
• Understand energy product safety and apply it to design and assembly processes.
