Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering candidate for a 9-12 month full-time position in Malaysia. You will engage in mechanical design, simulations, and testing across proposed concepts, POC studies, and product verification. The role emphasizes independent work, rapid learning, and clear documentation within a dynamic team.

The position involves sizing components, performing structural/thermal/optical simulations, and adhering to product specifications. Travel is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Able to adapt in a dynamic environment and learn quickly.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and development activities (proposals, risks assessment, concepts study, detail designs, analysis, drawings, prototypes, tests).
• New technologies study and proof of concept (POC) design.
• Conduct mechanical engineering tests, verification tests, characterizations, cyclic and reliability tests per product specs.
• Component sizing, calculation and selection (motors, gears, CAM, Peltiere device, etc.).
• Perform structural, thermal and/or optical simulations.
• Document and record all designs into the system.
