Job summary

dormakaba in Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the application solutions team. You will develop concepts and detailed designs for entrance systems, generate 3D models, create manufacturing drawings and BOMs, and prepare prototypes for design reviews.

Strong CAD skills and knowledge of DFA/DFM, FMEA and tolerancing are required. Candidates should have a Mechanical Engineering degree, 2+ years for junior or 5+ years for senior roles, and be able to communicate in English;

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Junior 2+ years; Senior 5+ years.
• Familiar with manufacturing processes of sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Generate concepts and develop detailed designs for entrance system product.
• Generate 3D models for design review and verification.
• Create manufacturing drawings and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Prepare mockups/prototypes for reviews and verification.
• Prepare operating and maintenance manuals.
• Develop test plans to verify designs.
• Customize designs based on existing products for special projects.
• Review specs with customers and liaise with vendors during fabrication.
• Collaborate with sales, production and procurement to deliver projects.
