Job summary

KCLA Engineers Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer to help design industrial facilities across semiconductor, pharma, electronics, and logistics sectors in Malaysia.

You will develop HVAC, power distribution, lighting, and process utilities, perform calculations, and generate reports and drawings from concept through commissioning. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years in an engineering consultancy, strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• 2+ years in engineering consultancy environment preferred.
• Experience in M&E design for buildings or industrial facilities is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems (HVAC, ventilation, exhaust, compressed air, chilled water, process utilities).
• Design electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, emergency power, earthing, lightning protection).
• Perform engineering calculations and design validation.
• Prepare design reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
• Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Be Doing

• Mechanical system design including HVAC, ventilation, exhaust, compressed air, chilled water, and process utilities
• Electrical system design including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, earthing, and lightning protection systems
• Engineering calculations and design validation
• Preparation of design reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
• Coordination with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Technical review and optimization of engineering systems for performance, reliability, and sustainability
• Supporting projects from conceptual design through construction and commissioning

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges and developing practical engineering solutions.

We're Looking For Engineers Who Design

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering consultancy environment
• Experience in M&E design for buildings or industrial facilities
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles and relevant standards
• Ability to perform engineering calculations independently
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Highly Desirable

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software
• Experience with industrial projects, manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, or process plants
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and industry codes
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects
