Job summary

Finbond Heavy Machinery Sdn Bhd seeks an on-site Mechanic to travel across Malaysia, assist senior technicians with diagnostics and troubleshoot heavy machinery. You will perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance under guidance, ensuring safe, efficient service at customer locations.

Ideal candidates hold SKM Level 2/3 or a related Diploma, 0–2 years of experience, and a willingness to travel and work overtime. GDL is a plus, with opportunity for growth within our expanding team.

Qualifications

• Chem/technical diploma or SKM Level 2/3 preferred in automotive or heavy machinery.
• 1–2 years of mechanical/technical experience; fresh graduates welcome.
• GDL license is an advantage; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting on heavy machinery.
• Perform basic to intermediate repairs and preventive maintenance as directed.
• Support senior mechanics during complex repairs on-site.
• Prepare work area, tools and equipment for each service job.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area at customer sites.
• Communicate issues and progress to Team Lead; complete service reports and timesheets.
• Document parts used to ensure accurate record-keeping.

Minimum 1–2 years as Mechanic (Fresh graduates are welcome to apply)

About the role

Travel to customer locations to assist the senior customer service mechanics with diagnostics and troubleshooting on a variety of heavy machinery. Perform basic to intermediate repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as directed. Support senior mechanics during complex repairs at customer premises. Work closely with other mechanics, following instructions and contributing to an efficient and positive team environment on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting on heavy machinery
• Perform basic to intermediate repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as directed
• Prepare the work area, tools, and equipment needed for each service job
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at the customer's site at all times
• Communicate technical issues, tool needs, or job progress updates to the Team Lead
• Accurately complete service reports, job cards, and timesheets for all work performed in the field
• Assist in documenting parts used for repairs to ensure accurate record-keeping

About you

Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 2/3 in Automotive, Heavy Machinery, or a related technical field is preferred, Diploma is an advantage

0-2 years of experience in a mechanical or technical role

Fresh graduates from vocational institutes are strongly encouraged to apply

Goods Driving License (GDL) is an advantage

Willing to travel outstation for overnight jobs as required

Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, to complete on-site jobs
