Job summary

Maybank in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced backend developer to design, build and support enterprise-wide MDM solutions. You will implement data models, APIs, and integration patterns for core master data domains and ensure data quality and governance across systems.

The role requires hands-on PL/SQL development, API work, ETL/ELT tooling experience and familiarity with MDM platforms such as IBM InfoSphere MDM, SAP MDG or Semarchy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computing or engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of back-end development with PL/SQL centric data engineering or MDM development.
• Solid experience in API development.
• Good experience and exposure to PL/SQL development.
• Hands-on experience with one or more MDM platforms such as IBM InfoSphere MDM, SAP MDG, Semarchy.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and configure MDM solutions for core master data domains (Customer, Party, Product, Reference, Entity).
• Develop APIs off the MDM layer and expose them for consumption.
• Implement data models, hierarchies, survivorship, and match-merge logic.
• Build and maintain integrations between MDM platforms and upstream/downstream systems.
• Develop batch and real-time data ingestion pipelines into the MDM hub/database.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to align with governance standards.

Job description

• Design, build, and support enterprise-wide MDM solutions that ensure consistent, accurate and trusted master data across systems.
• Implement data models and develop microservices, integration patterns via PL/SQL.development, data quality rules, matching and merging logic and governance workflows for key master data domains.
• Provide tech solutions, development and support to stakeholders (IT and business) in alignment with the organization strategy and roadmap.

MDM Design & Development:

• Design, develop, and configure MDM solutions for core master data domains (Customer, Party, Product, Reference, Entity).
• Develop and expose APIs off the MDM layer.
• Implement and develop PL/SQL integration patterns via stored procedures.
• Implement data models, hierarchies, relationships, and survivorship rules.
• Configure match-merge logic, golden record creation, and de-duplication processes.
• Develop batch and real-time data ingestion pipelines into the MDM hub/database.
• Design database tables, SPs, data design and modelling.
• Build and maintain integrations between MDM platforms and upstream/downstream systems.
• Develop APIs, services and messaging-based integrations for master data distribution.
• Work with ETL/ELT tools to load, transform, and synchronize data across systems.

Data Quality & Governance:

• Implement data quality rules, validation checks, and exception handling workflows.
• Support data stewardship processes including data review, remediation, and approval.

Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance standards and policies.

Testing, Deployment & Support:

• Develop unit, integration, and regression test cases for MDM components.
• Support SIT, UAT and production deployments.
• Troubleshoot data issues, integration failures and performance bottlenecks.
• Provide operational support and documentation for MDM solutions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with data architects, business analysts, data stewards, and source system owners.
• Translate business data requirements into technical MDM solutions.
• Contribute to MDM roadmaps, standards and best practices.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of back-end development with PL/SQL centric data engineering or MDM development.
• Solid experience in API development.
• Good experience and exposure to PL/SQL development.
• Hands-on experience with one or more MDM platforms, such as:

• Strong understanding of MDM concepts: golden record, survivorship, match-merge, hierarchy management.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica PowerCenter/IDQ, Talend, DataStage).
• Experience with API integration (REST/SOAP) and messaging platforms (Kafka, MQ).
• Strong understanding of data modelling, normalization and metadata management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Experience in banking, financial services or regulated industries as a back-end developer.
• Knowledge of Customer/Party MDM, KYC, entity resolution and reference data management.
• Experience with data quality and profiling tools (Informatica IDQ, Ataccama).
• Familiarity with data lineage, impact analysis, and metadata tools.
• Exposure to event-driven architecture and real-time data synchronization.
