Job summary

Penerbitan Pelangi in Bangi is seeking an Editorial Assistant to edit manuscripts and proofread from manuscript through CRC stage. You will coordinate with writers and production staff to ensure timely delivery of titles.

The role requires a degree in Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent, 1–2 years editorial experience (fresh graduates considered), and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint and other publishing software. Full-time, office hours, Monday to Friday.

• Edit manuscripts and proofread thoroughly from manuscript until CRC stage.
• Coordinate and liaise closely with writers.
• Ensure all projects assigned are accomplished on time.
• Coordinate and liaise with the production staff pertaining to illustrations, typesetting/layout and corrections.
• Liaise with Marketing Department for feedback on newly released titles.
• Propose new format of publication (series or titles).
• Ensure books are updated, vetted and corrected before printing.
• Perform any ad hoc and other duties relating to the above as may be assigned by superior from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent.
• Applicant should have 1-2 years editorial experience or similar, however, fresh graduate will also be considered.
• Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point and other word processing and publishing software.
• Selected applicant will work in Penerbitan Pelangi, Wisma Pelangi, Bangi.
• Working hours: Full time in office, Monday to Friday, 8.00AM - 5.30PM.
