Regent International School in Klang, Malaysia, is seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher for KS4 to deliver Cambridge/IGCSE-aligned lessons. You will foster problem-solving, analytical thinking, and real-world application of mathematics while assessing progress and providing constructive feedback.
The role involves collaboration with the Mathematics department to maintain high standards and support student development.
Plan and deliver engaging and effective Mathematics lessons for KS4 students, aligned with the relevant Cambridge/IGCSE curriculum and learning objectives.
Teach mathematical concepts clearly and effectively, developing students’ problem-solving, analytical, logical reasoning, and critical-thinking skills.
Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, activities, and other resources appropriate for KS4 Mathematics.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate students with different abilities, learning needs, and learning styles.
Provide appropriate support and challenge to help students achieve their academic potential in Mathematics.
Prepare students effectively for Cambridge/IGCSE Mathematics examinations, including examination techniques, revision, past-paper practice, and time-management strategies.
Regularly assess, monitor, and record students’ academic progress through classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, examinations, and other forms of assessment.
Provide constructive and timely feedback to students and identify areas requiring further support or improvement.
Develop students’ confidence in Mathematics and encourage them to apply mathematical knowledge to real-world situations and problem-solving tasks.
Maintain a positive, well-organised, and supportive classroom environment that promotes active participation and independent learning.
Set and mark homework, assignments, tests, and other assessments in accordance with school expectations and curriculum requirements.
Maintain accurate lesson records, assessment data, student documentation, and other teaching-related administrative tasks.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents regarding students’ academic progress and learning needs when required.
Collaborate with other Mathematics teachers and relevant departments to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery, assessment, and academic standards.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, school events, parent meetings, and other activities as assigned.
Contribute to the development and improvement of the Mathematics curriculum, teaching resources, and departmental practices where required.
Carry out other reasonable teaching and school-related duties assigned by the school management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Education (Mathematics), or a relevant subject, together with a recognised teaching qualification.
Strong command of both written and spoken English.
At least 2 years of Mathematics teaching experience, preferably teaching the Cambridge/IGCSE Mathematics curriculum in an international school.
Experience teaching KS4 students is required or highly preferred.
Experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics examinations will be an advantage.
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
Strong examination preparation, assessment, and classroom management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
