Job summary

Regent International School in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher in delivering lessons and providing learning support to students. You will help prepare materials, organise resources, and assist with classroom activities to foster a safe and stimulating learning environment.

You will work closely with teachers to monitor progress, use educational technology, and assist in co-curricular activities as needed, ensuring student welfare and smooth daily

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities in line with the curriculum and intended learning outcomes.
• Assist in preparing lesson materials, worksheets, handouts, visual aids, and other resources required for teaching.
• Organise and arrange classroom materials, equipment, and learning resources before and during lessons.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to students who need additional support with their learning.
• Guide students during class exercises, assignments, practical tasks, and other learning activities under the teacher’s supervision.
• Observe and record students’ participation, learning progress, behaviour, and development, and share relevant observations with the class teacher.
• Assist with reviewing, marking, and checking students’ classwork and assignments as directed by the teacher.
• Help create a welcoming, well-managed, and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages effective learning.
• Motivate students to engage actively in lessons, school activities, and other learning opportunities.
• Assist in incorporating digital tools, educational technology, teaching aids, and other resources into classroom activities.
• Identify students who may need additional academic, behavioural, or emotional support and communicate concerns to the class teacher.
• Assist with co-curricular activities, school functions, assemblies, educational programmes, and other activities when required.
• Help maintain an orderly, clean, organised, and well-prepared classroom environment.
• Promote students’ safety, welfare, and well-being and immediately report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff member.
• Carry out additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the class teacher or school management.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and teaching team to support effective classroom management and student learning.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with teachers and school staff regarding students’ progress, behaviour, learning needs, and development.
• Assist with parent or guardian communication when required and as directed by the class teacher.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, school events, workshops, and professional development activities as required.
