Job summary

HACH MALAYSIA SDN BHD is seeking a Master Data Specialist to maintain high-quality product master data across PLM/ERP systems. You will enable accurate data for R&D, Operations, and Sales, supporting business continuity and growth within a global master data team based in Malaysia.

This role is remote or hybrid depending on location and requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in Master Data/Data Management and experience with ERP/PLM systems,

• Experience in manufacturing, operations, or product data environments.

Responsibilities

• Create new product master data in PLM/ERP systems within defined SLAs.
• Extend existing product data across systems and sites.
• Update and maintain product master data for legacy items.
• Monitor and manage workflows to ensure timely completion of requests.
• Support internal stakeholders with product data queries and issue resolution.
• Review data quality and ensure compliance with global policies and SOPs.
• Perform data analysis and execute mass data maintenance activities.
• Support training and communication initiatives for stakeholders.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Master Data Management, the Master Data Specialist plays a key role in supporting Sales and Manufacturing sites by maintaining high-quality product master data. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely availability of product data for R&D, Operations, and Sales, enabling business continuity and growth. You’ll join a growing global team where your work directly impacts operational efficiency and data integrity across the organization. This position is part of the Global Master Data Management team, located in Malaysia and will be remote or hybrid, depending on location.

What You'll Be Doing (Job Responsibilities)

Create new product master data in PLM/ERP systems within defined SLAs

Extend existing product data across systems and sites

Update and maintain product master data for legacy items

Monitor and manage workflows to ensure timely completion of requests

Support internal stakeholders with product data queries and issue resolution

Review data quality and ensure compliance with global policies and SOPs

Perform data analysis and execute mass data maintenance activities

Support training and communication initiatives for stakeholders

What We Are Looking For (Skills & Qualifications)

Minimum 2 years of experience in Master Data, Data Management, or related roles

Experience in manufacturing, operations, or product data environments

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Experience with ERP and/or PLM systems (e.g., Oracle, Agile PLM or similar)

Fluency in Chinese language is a plus

Familiarity with product structures (e.g., BOMs, item master data) is a plus

Experience with Power BI or VBA is a plus

Our testing system cover the whole spectrum needed for water analysis from heavy metals to microbial analysis. Hach also provides process analysis systems and total solutions for continuous water analysis in the environmental and industrial markets.

Our selected team of qualified chemists and service engineers are required to undergo regular international service courses to acquaint themselves with the latest technology and development of their respective field of expertise.
