Wipro Unza Malaysia and Wipro Consumer Care (LDW) form part of the global Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting family. The role leads strategic marketing for a personal care brand portfolio, translating consumer insights into profitable growth across retail, digital, and e-commerce channels.
The candidate will drive product lifecycle management, go-to-market planning, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, regulatory, and supply chain to ensure successful launches and ongoing performance
The ideal candidate will lead the strategy, development, commercialization, and performance of the assigned personal care brand portfolio. The role will translate consumer and market insights into profitable brand growth through relevant product innovation, effective campaigns, and strong execution across retail, digital, e-commerce, and professional channels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Consumer and Market Insights
Lead consumer, shopper, category, competitor, and market research to identify trends, needs, behaviours, and growth opportunities.
Translate insights, research, social listening, customer feedback, and sales data into actionable recommendations for brand and commercial strategies.
2. Brand and Portfolio Strategy
Develop and execute annual and long-term brand and portfolio strategies aligned with company and regional objectives.
Define brand positioning, target segments, portfolio roles, and growth opportunities while strengthening brand equity.
3. Regional NPD Partnership
Partner with regional NPD teams to develop products and campaigns aligned with local consumer, regulatory, customer, and commercial requirements.
Provide local market insights and feedback to support regional innovation, product adaptation, and post-launch improvements.
4. Product Innovation and Development with Cross-Functional Departments
Lead the product development lifecycle from opportunity identification and concept development through commercialisation and post-launch review.
Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, quality, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, agencies, and OEM partners to ensure successful product development and launch.
5. Product Lifecycle and Portfolio Management
Manage product performance across the lifecycle, including sales, profitability, inventory, consumer relevance, and SKU productivity.
Recommend product renovation, reformulation, repackaging, range extension, or discontinuation to optimize portfolio performance.
6. OEM and External Product Partner Management
Manage marketing relationships with OEM and external development partners, including briefs, product development, costing, testing, and launch readiness.
Monitor partner performance, timelines, costs, quality, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and commercial commitments.
7. Commercial and P&L Ownership
Manage revenue, gross margin, contribution, marketing investment, and profitability for the assigned portfolio.
Develop budgets, forecasts, business cases, and corrective actions to deliver short-term commercial performance and sustainable growth.
8. Pricing and Revenue Growth Management
Develop pricing, promotional, pack-price, and channel strategies that balance competitiveness, consumer value, and profitability.
Identify opportunities for premiumization, mix improvement, pricing optimisation, and margin expansion in partnership with Sales and Finance.
9. Demand Planning and Supply Alignment
Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to align demand forecasts with brand plans, launches, campaigns, and promotions.
Monitor forecast accuracy, inventory, service levels, and supply risks, and develop mitigation plans where required.
10. Go-to-Market and Launch Management
Lead cross-functional go-to-market and launch planning, covering consumers, channels, pricing, distribution, communications, and sales objectives.
Ensure product availability, regulatory approval, sales readiness, marketing assets, and launch execution are delivered according to plan.
11. Integrated Campaign Planning and Execution
Develop and execute integrated campaigns that build brand equity, increase awareness, drive trial, and support conversion.
Lead campaign briefing, production, rollout, optimization, budget management, and post-campaign evaluation across relevant channels.
12. Digital, Social Media, CRM and E-Commerce
Drive the brand's digital and e-commerce presence in partnership with E-commerce and Digital teams.
Develop and optimize digital content, social media, influencer, marketplace, and online commercial initiatives to improve engagement and conversion.
13. Sales, Customer and Trade Marketing Collaboration
Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing to translate brand strategies into customer, channel, assortment, and activation plans.
Support customer presentations, range reviews, new-product listings, sell-in materials, and in-market execution.
14. Distribution and Channel Development
Identify opportunities to expand brand presence across relevant retail, pharmacy, beauty, convenience, professional, DTC, marketplace, and social-commerce channels.
Develop channel-specific assortment, pricing, packs, and activation strategies while improving distribution and channel profitability.
15. Marketing Budget and Investment Management
Develop and manage marketing budgets across brand, campaigns, innovation, research, and activation activities.
Monitor expenditure, commitments, variances, and marketing effectiveness to ensure optimal allocation of resources and compliance with financial controls.
16. Performance Analysis and Reporting
Monitor brand and portfolio performance across sales, market share, distribution, inventory, margin, digital performance, and campaign effectiveness.
Provide management with actionable insights, performance reviews, risks, opportunities, and recommended corrective actions.
17. Agency and Vendor Management
Manage creative, media, digital, PR, production, event, and other marketing agencies and specialist partners.
Develop clear briefs, budgets, timelines, and deliverables while monitoring quality, performance, costs, and compliance.
18. Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Leadership
Build effective relationships with local, regional, and external stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, and other functions.
Lead cross-functional projects, align priorities, facilitate decision-making, and drive timely resolution of issues.
19. Team Leadership and Capability Development
Lead, coach, and develop team members by setting clear objectives, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth.
Build capabilities in brand management, consumer insights, innovation, digital marketing, commercial analysis, and project management.
20. Regulatory, Legal and Ethical Compliance
Ensure products, claims, communications, promotions, and marketing activities comply with relevant regulatory, legal, advertising, consumer-protection, privacy, and platform requirements.
Partner with Regulatory, Legal, Quality, and technical teams to ensure claims are substantiated, approvals are documented, and marketing practices are responsible and ethical.
21. Brand Reputation and Issue Management
Monitor consumer feedback, product reviews, social conversations, complaints, and emerging risks that may affect brand reputation.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to assess issues, manage communications and corrective actions, and support crisis or recall processes where required.
1. FMCG Background
Minimum 10 years of progressive marketing or brand/product management experience within FMCG, ideally in personal care, beauty, or skincare.
Proven experience in product launches, brand campaigns, marketing activations, and new product development, with strong consumer and category understanding.
2. Cross-Functional Leadership
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively with R&D, supply chain, digital, sales, and commercial teams.
Experience managing or guiding junior team members and external agencies is an advantage.
3. Strategic Thinking & Analytical Rigor
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market, sales, and campaign data into actionable business decisions.
Ability to use data and insights to shape portfolio strategy and optimise marketing ROI.
4. Creative Development Support
Strong creative sensibility with experience developing or shaping TVC/DVC, packaging, digital content, key visuals, and other marketing materials.
Ability to collaborate with creative and media agencies to translate brand strategy into impactful campaigns.
Hands-on experience or strong collaboration with digital and e-commerce teams across social media, SEO/SEM, online campaigns, and platform activations.
Familiarity with D2C, eRetail, and digital optimization is an advantage.
