Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a marketing and business development professional to drive growth in marine services, launch services and shipping agency. You will identify opportunities, build relationships with ship owners, charterers and agents, and promote comprehensive maritime solutions across Port Klang and other Malaysian ports.

The role requires 1–3 years in shipping or related industries, a relevant Diploma/Degree, and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business, Maritime, Shipping, Logistics or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in shipping, marine, logistics or related industries preferred.
• Experience in shipping agency, marine services or launch services will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of vessel and port operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing and business development strategies for marine services, launch services and shipping agency.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the shipping and maritime industry.
• Build and maintain relationships with ship owners, ship managers, charterers, ship agents, vessel operators and other maritime stakeholders.
• Promote the company's marine launch, vessel support and shipping agency services.
• Source and follow up on enquiries from vessels calling at Port Klang and other Malaysian ports.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and presentations based on customers' requirements.
• Coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of customer and vessel requirements.
• Follow up on vessel schedules, port calls and marine service requirements.
• Develop business opportunities for launch boat services, crew transfer, vessel attendance and other marine support services.
• Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitor activities.
• Maintain regular communication and follow-up with existing and potential customers.
• Attend customer meetings, networking events and industry activities when required.
• Support tender submissions and commercial negotiations.
• Maintain proper records of customer enquiries, quotations and business opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business, Maritime, Shipping, Logistics or related field.

1–3 years of relevant experience in shipping, marine, logistics or related industries preferred.

Experience in shipping agency, marine services or launch services will be an advantage.

Good understanding of vessel and port operations.

Strong communication, negotiation and customer relationship skills.

Good commercial awareness and ability to develop new business.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.

Willing to meet customers and travel when required.

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
