Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a proactive Equipment Technician to join our manufacturing team in Malaysia. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to improve production methods, troubleshoot electronics and PLC systems, and manage critical spares to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of related experience is required.
• Equipment or tester troubleshooting skills are necessary; electronic knowledge is a must.
• Spare parts management tech skills and Pivot knowledge are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop, troubleshoot, and improve production methods and procedures.
• Perform electronic troubleshooting and PLC programming interfacing with electronics hardware.
• Maintain critical spares inventory to minimise downtime.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers in investigating and implementing new production methods.
• Assist in design, sourcing, and documentation of parts and methods.
• Conduct equipment qualifications and validations and prepare related reports.
• Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment changes and improvements.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders during these activities.
• Promote safe and environmentally responsible work practices.

Job description

Purpose Statement

• Work with Manufacturing Engineers in developing, trouble shooting, standardizing and improving existing production methods and procedures.
• Work on Electronic troubleshooting, PLC. programming, electronic hardware interfacing.
• Maintain a critical spares inventory for key maintenance items to minimise downtime.
• Assist ME’s in investigating and implementing new production methods.
• Assist ME’s in design methods, part sourcing and documentation.
• Perform equipment qualifications and validations, including report writing etc.
• Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements.
• Interface with a variety of BSIL personnel and with outside vendors when necessary while performing the above.
• Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures with an assigned process or area.
• Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health or safety issues to their manager.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Others), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent.
• Required skill(s): equipment maintenance, equipment qualification, critical thinking, Problem Solving.
• At least 3~5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Need equipment or tester troubleshooting skills. Having worked on tester PM will add an advantage. Electronic knowledge is a must
• Spare parts management tech skills and Pivot.
• This is additional headcount for expansion.
