Job summary
Grand Venture Technology is seeking an Engineering Manager (Manufacturing Systems) in Malaysia to lead and develop the Manufacturing Systems Engineering team, drive KPIs, manpower planning, and engineering standards. You will optimize processes, ERP/EPICOR, BOM, routing and work instructions to support NPI and production ramp-up.
You will champion Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Industry 4.0 initiatives to boost OEE, cycle time and costs, while managing projects across NPI, Production, Quality,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8-12 years of manufacturing/engineering experience, including at least 3-5 years in an engineering supervisory or management role.
- Strong experience in manufacturing engineering, NPI, product transfer, process development, DFM/DFA and production ramp-up.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, OEE, TAKT time, cycle-time improvement, SPC and process capability.
- Experience with BOM, BOO/routing, ERP/EPICOR, manufacturing systems, tooling / fixtures and engineering change management.
- Proven people-management and mentoring skills, with strong analytical thinking, decision-making, communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the Manufacturing Systems Engineering team, including KPIs, manpower planning, technical competency and engineering standards.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, ERP/manufacturing systems, BOM, routing, work instructions, tooling, fixture and process controls.
- Lead manufacturing engineering activities for NPI, including DFM reviews, process development, trial builds, validation, product transfer and production ramp-up.
- Drive Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and productivity initiatives to improve OEE, cycle time, yield, TAKT time, labour productivity and manufacturing costs.
- Improve ERP/EPICOR and manufacturing systems, data integration, traceability, engineering change control and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Lead root-cause analysis, corrective actions, defect reduction and ECN implementation while ensuring manufacturing processes meet quality and customer requirements.
- Manage engineering projects and collaborate with NPI, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, IT, Product Engineering and external suppliers to achieve business and manufacturing objectives.
