Job summary

Sydney Cake House is seeking an IT professional to deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise firewalls and OPNsense-based security for a manufacturing environment. You will manage LAN/WAN devices, Windows/Linux servers, and ensure high uptime for both office and production systems.

The role requires 1–2 years in IT support, network infrastructure, and server operations, with manufacturing experience preferred. Cloud design input is valued as we modernize our infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, IT, or related field.
• 1–2 years hands-on IT support, network infrastructure, and server operations.
• Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with firewall setup and OPNsense.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise firewalls to secure corporate/manufacturing networks.
• Manage OPNsense firewall solutions, including rule creation, IDS/IPS, and VPN setups.
• Continuously monitor network traffic for anomalies and enforce security best practices.
• Manage LAN/WAN equipment, including routers, switches, and wireless APs.
• Operate Windows/Linux servers; manage AD, DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
• Monitor server performance and perform backups, firmware updates, and DR testing.
• Provide Level 1–2 IT support for hardware, software, and network issues on office and production floors.
• Troubleshoot connectivity for industrial devices and document network configurations and SOPs.
• Assist in evaluating/designing cloud-based workloads; input design experience valued as we scale.
