Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain digital solutions for shopfloor and supply chain operations in Malaysia.

You will drive digitalization by automating data collection and transforming complex data into actionable insights, while ensuring compliance with data governance and cybersecurity standards. The role involves leading projects, collaborating across IT and operations, and mentoring peers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in full-stack development, modern data platforms, and data integration workflows.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying data pipelines and BI solutions for manufacturing or supply chain.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, JavaScript, C#, Visual Basic, ASP.NET, React, or comparable technologies.
• Practical experience with ETL tools, data integration platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, and RESTful API development or integration.
• Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Working knowledge of BI/visualization platforms (Qlik Sense, Power BI, Grafana); exposure to AI/ML preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with leadership and stakeholder management.
• Self-motivated, innovative, and able to learn quickly across diverse tech stacks.
• Ability to lead projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with management and cross-functional teams to design and deliver digital solutions that boost productivity and enable data-driven decisions.
• Lead digital solution projects from planning through implementation, coordinating stakeholders, and managing scope and risks.
• Translate manufacturing and supply chain needs into clear technical specifications.
• Develop full-stack software, databases, and analytics apps with seamless data integration.
• Create, execute, and document test plans to ensure quality and reliability.
• Transform complex datasets into actionable insights for analytics and workflows.
• Provide ongoing operational support and ensure reliability with minimal downtime.
• Ensure solutions comply with data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory standards.
• Evaluate system architecture and emerging technologies to improve performance and scalability.
• Stay current with industry trends and apply advancements to improve delivery and outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design oversight.
