Role Description

This full-time on-site Mandarin Teacher role is based at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu in Kuala Terengganu. The teacher will design and deliver engaging Mandarin language classes for university students, using a variety of instructional methods and resources. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching both language and cultural aspects, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, participating in academic meetings and student consultations, and contributing to curriculum development and co-curricular language activities.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Chinese Teaching and Teaching, with proven experience delivering effective Mandarin language instruction.
• Candidates should possess skills in Lesson Planning and Education to design structured, outcomes-based lessons and learning activities.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to interact clearly and respectfully with students and colleagues in both spoken and written formats.
• Proficiency in Mandarin (native or near-native level) and good command of English or Malay for classroom and administrative communication.
• Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Chinese Language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; teaching certification or pedagogical training is an advantage.
• Experience teaching at tertiary or secondary level, familiarity with assessment methods, and ability to use educational technology and online learning platforms.
• Strong classroom management, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching.
