Job summary

Qualifications

  • Appropriate child focused qualification (e.g. nursery nursing, teaching assistant qualification)
  • At least two to three years' relevant experience in a school setting (desirable)
  • A passion for children and a belief in the education of the 'whole child'
  • High levels of professionalism and care for children
  • Excellent oral and written English
  • ISP Leadership Competencies demonstrated in all duties

Responsibilities

  • Promote highest standards of education through effective teaching and learning.
  • Call on best research evidence to inform language pedagogy.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, parents and students.
  • Build a cooperative, collaborative school culture and foster inclusive values.
  • Teach Mandarin to students; teaching Maths for lower primary is an advantage.
  • Participate in curriculum meetings and school improvement activities.

Purpose of Role

This position is open to dynamic and inspiring Mandarin teachers who have a passion for delivering excellent attainment and achievement in Mandarin.

The post holder will:

Ensure the highest possible standards of education through the promotion of effective teaching and learning; calling on the best research-based evidence to inform pedagogical practice in the teaching of languages.

Other Professional Requirements:

Set a good example to students through presentation, personal and professional conduct, following the School dress code for all staff.

Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.

Be aware of child protection and safety procedures.

Be well organised, proactive and manage time effectively.

Support the School's behaviour code and uniform regulations.

Have a working knowledge of school policies and procedures.

Participate in meetings which may relate to the curriculum, administration or organisation of the School, including pastoral issues and arrangements.

Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with colleagues.

Build and maintain co-operative relationships with parents and students.

Able to teach Math's for lower primary will be an advantage
