Job summary

Hong Leong Bank is seeking a Manager - Wholesale Credit (Early Care) to identify deteriorating loan quality early and work with Business & Corporate Banking to minimize losses. The role reports to the Head, Group Special Assets.

The ideal candidate is a Malaysian citizen with a degree in Business, Accounting, Banking & Finance or equivalent and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Independent work style and strong work ethic are essential.

Responsibilities

• Credit evaluation of Watch List (WL) and High Risk (HR) accounts, identify concerns and recommend actions.
• Assess trigger hits to determine whether accounts should be downgraded to WL/HR.
• Manage WL/HR accounts with BC; monitor payments and compliance; provide status updates to Mgmt/BNM/auditors/CGC/SJPP.
• Assist BC with accounts' credit concerns, vetting R&R Letter of Offer and completing legal documentation.
• Provide Early Alerts via Pre-IL report and monitor daily PDBs, CA expirations, rating downgrades, and adverse news for early detection of deterioration.
• Ensure data accuracy for WL/HR reports; prepare and update status reports for SAC Meetings/Mgmt/BNM/auditors/CGC/SJPP; update status for new inflows into WL/HR.

This role will be reporting to the Head, Group Special Assets.**Key Responsibilities*** Credit evaluation of Watch List (“WL”) and High Risk (“HR”) accounts, identify area of concerns, recommend appropriate actions/strategies to address the risk factors and conducting site-visit together with BC when necessary.* Conduct assessment of trigger hits on judgmental/obligatory triggers to determine whether accounts should be downgraded to WL/HR.* Manage WL/HR accounts jointly with BC, monitor payments & compliance to terms and conditions, provide status update to Mgmt/BNM/auditors/CGC/SJPP, etc.* Provide assistance/guidance to BC in dealing with accounts with credit concerns e.g. managing customers, identifying area of concerns, vetting R&R Letter of Offer, follow-through on completion of any legal documentation and other queries raised by BCs, etc.* Provide Early Alerts to BC & CED via Pre-IL report and monitoring of daily PDBs, expired CAs > 12 mths report, rating downgrade, adverse news on Borrower etc for early detection of any adverse signs or red flags indicating deterioration in existing account quality to prevent inflow into impairment.* Reporting responsibilities includes:* Ensure data accuracy for all reports on WL /HR accounts.* Prepare/update status report of WL & HR accounts for SAC Meetings/Mgmt/BNM/auditors/CGC/SJPP.* Update status for new inflows into WL/HR.**Jobholder Requirements*** Malaysian citizen.* Degree holder in Business, Accounting, Banking & Finance or equivalent.* Minimum 3-5 years related working experience.* Able to work both independently as well as part of a team.* Self-motivated, take pride in one’s work and committed with a strong work ethic.*About Hong Leong Bank**We are a leading financial institution in Malaysia backed by a century of entrepreneurial heritage.
