Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Transport Operations Lead to oversee end-to-end transport activities, ensuring KPI targets are met while optimizing costs through disciplined planning and continuous improvement. You will manage day-to-day transport operations, develop transport plans, monitor dispatch and delivery, and lead Fleet & Vendor Management and Safety, Compliance & Quality initiatives.

• Oversee performance and maintenance of fleets; manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
• Develop and manage the transportation budget; identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead, coach and develop transport supervisors, planners, dispatchers and drivers; set performance objectives and conduct reviews.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards; support audits and maintain accurate records.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance transport efficiency, customer service, and waste reduction.

Transport Operations Lead

Lead and oversee end-to-end transport operations, ensuring operational KPIs are met while optimizing costs through effective planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage day-to-day transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods, develop transport plans, optimize delivery routes, monitor dispatch and delivery schedules, resolve operational issues and implement contingency plans to minimize service disruptions, and ensure services meet customer expectations and business requirements.

Fleet & Vendor Management

• Oversee performance and maintenance of company-owned and outsourced fleets.
• Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, roadworthy, licensed, and compliant with legal requirements.
• Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers and transport contractors to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
• Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs to improve overall fleet performance.

Cost Control & Performance Management

• Develop and manage the transportation budget.
• Identify and implement initiatives to reduce transportation costs while maintaining service standards.
• Monitor and report key operational and financial KPIs.
• Analyze transport data and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop transport supervisors, planners, dispatchers, and drivers.
• Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure sufficient manpower planning to support business operations.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Promote safe driving practices and investigate transport incidents or accidents.
• Ensure all transportation records and documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Support internal and external audits related to transportation operations.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transport efficiency, customer service, and cost performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve transport processes through technology, automation, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business growth and operational excellence.
