Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced actuarial lead in Kuala Lumpur to lead, coach and manage the actuarial team, and to drive IFRS 17/CSM execution, validation and analysis for assigned business units. The role requires 6–8 years of insurance actuarial experience, fellowship or near-fellowship, strong IFRS 17 knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and Python; travel may be required.

Hybrid work – 2 days in the office weekly.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of insurance actuarial experience.
• Fellowship or near-fellowship from a recognised actuarial body.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 and actuarial valuation.
• Proficient in Excel and Python.
• Strong analytical, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Willing to travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and manage the actuarial team and allocate resources effectively.
• Lead IFRS 17 / CSM execution, validation and analysis for assigned business units.
• Review actuarial results for accuracy, reasonableness and consistency.
• Manage IFRS 17 production timelines, issues, Q&A logs and ad-hoc requests.
• Coordinate with Group Actuarial, Finance, business units and other stakeholders.
• Resolve and escalate complex IFRS 17 issues when required.
• Lead actuarial projects, process improvements and model maintenance activities.
• Communicate results and key findings to business stakeholders.
